Artist Statement
The Book and Vessels emerges from the quiet, observant atmosphere of the studio. The composition draws from objects commonly found in art classrooms—brush containers, flowerpots, ornamental elements, water vessels, and everyday forms that exist in constant proximity yet often remain unnoticed.
At its core, the book becomes a symbolic presence—representing the teacher, a mentor, or a guiding consciousness within the creative space.
Through abstraction, these objects are deconstructed and reinterpreted as emotional forms. They engage in silent dialogues, transcending their physical identity to reflect states of mind and inner experiences.
Each element embodies a psychological nuance:
the hollow resonance of an empty can,
the stillness of a dried sunflower,
the quiet potential of a germinating seed,
and the drifting restlessness of a dry leaf in light.
The work unfolds as a layered narrative—where the studio transforms into a mental landscape of learning, observation, and becoming. It is not merely a depiction of objects, but an expression of the evolving consciousness of a student within the creative process.
